The Association of Economic Representatives in London (AERL) is an informal association of diplomats and officials of Embassies and High Commissions in London, with direct responsibility for economic, commercial and financial affairs. Bringing together more than 250 diplomats and officials dealing with economic, trade, finance, science, innovation and business promotion, the AERL builds bridges and opens doors that would be much harder for members to access if they were working alone. The AERL is proud to provide London’s diplomatic community with a valued platform for dialogue between high-level representatives of industry, policy-makers, academia and government.

The AERL’s programme is extensive, reflecting both the vast diversity of its global membership’s interests and the best of what London’s most dynamic environment has to offer. Emphasizing the essential ‘human dimension’ in diplomacy, the Association provides prime networking opportunities. It organises up to twelve presentations a year with high-calibre speakers and one social event. Past highlights have included the Global Economic Outlook for 2020 in co-operation with OMFIF; the Market Opening at the London Stock Exchange including a meeting with Minister for UK Investment, Graham Stuart MP; and a Town Hall Meeting with The Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP and Chair of the Treasury Committee.
