The AERL is delighted to invite you to a webinar with Lord Karan Bilimoria, CBE DL, President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), to share with us his views on the UK economy post-Brexit and opportunities post-COVID. In his presentation, he will also touch on the CBI’s long-term economic vision (covering topics such as global trade, decarbonisation, infrastructure, digitalization and innovation) as well as the progress made at the B7 CEO Summit which Lord Bilimoria is chairing during the UK’s G7 Presidency. Lord Bilimoria was elected as the new CBI President in June 2020. He is one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs who founded Cobra Beer in 1989 – and remains its Chairman to this day. He is also the founding Chairman of the UK India Business Council. A former Chancellor of Thames Valley University (now the University of West London), he was the youngest University Chancellor in the UK when appointed. In 2014, he was appointed as the 7th Chancellor of the University of Birmingham. He is also Chair of the University of Cambridge Judge Business School Advisory Board. Lord Bilimoria has been an Independent Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords for 14 years.
